There’s so much Goa has to offer, be it to it’s tourists or it’s locals. Being a local myself, I feel like I have paradise right under my nose but I don’t get to experience it too often because of work and other commitments.
I usually try to unwind on the weekends and head to a beach or to a resort to relax and rejuvenate, so I was thrilled when Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Resort in Cavelossim invited me over to experience their resort for a day.
Novotel is one of my favourite brands in the hospitality space because they offer really good amenities at an affordable price and they cater to everyone, from little kids to couples, families and senior citizens.
We started our day at the resort with Sunday brunch, the brunch theme for the day was ‘Asian’. They change it to different cuisines every Sunday so that it doesn’t get monotonous, which is great because it means that every time you visit, you’re in for a different culinary experience!
The Asian brunch offerings were quite impressive, I must say. From sushi to dumplings and Korean bbq pork, they had quite a spread! We enjoyed sitting by the pool while eating and taking in the view.
They also had a Goan food counter for all the traditional foodies.
The brunch left us satisfied, full-bellied and sleepy so we decided to take a Sunday afternoon nap in the room. The room, btw, is tastefully done up with a king sized bed, a lovely spacious bathroom, and huge windows to let in all of that natural light. There’s also a balcony to have your evening tea or a glass of whiskey before bed.
The best part about the property is the hammocks on their lawn. It’s a great spot to lie down and enjoy a book. We did a bit of that before we hit the beach. Cavelossim beach is a lovely one, with white sands and very few tourists.
After the beach, we took a dip in the pool which was so relaxing and MUCH needed after a long week at work. Doing the backstroke somehow feels like meditation to me and helps me relax so that was the highlight of my daycation.
After the swim, we took a shower, got dressed and ordered a pizza from room service to satiate our post swim craving!
It was truly the perfect Sunday = Sunday brunch + beach sun-downer + swim in the pool + a pizza to end the day with!
If you’re planning a day out with the family or even with friends or your spouse, don’t hesitate to check out Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Resort. They’ve got amazing amenities, great service and a lovely property that’ll leave you rejuvenated!
