“I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand”
Yup, this post is inspired by Sting’s famous ‘Desert Rose’ and also by the romantic monsoons. I’ve been wanting to do a feminine, pastel look for the longest time now and I’ve recently been OBSESSED with dusty pink and rose gold tones.
So the main element here is my pastel pink accordion midi skirt. I absolutely adore this skirt, it’s definitely one of my favorite items in my wardrobe right now. I found it while shopping at Bugis street in Singapore and I had a million outfit ideas running through my mind when I saw it! I knew then and there that I had to pick it up. The skirt is a satin one and the hemline hits right between my knees and ankles so it’s the perfect midi. It’s also super flowy and bohemian and the colour is just to die for! Even though this outfit is more ‘spring’ appropriate, I’d love to wear it during the monsoons because
1)We don’t really have spring here in Goa
2)Monsoons just remind me of movies like The Notebook because they’re so cozy and romantic and so is this outfit.
3)How cute would this outfit look with an umbrella over it?!
I paired the skirt with a white short-sleeved sheer lace top that I picked up from Forever 21 ages ago. I wanted the outfit to be feminine and romantic, hence I opted for soft colours like white and pink. The top is actually a see through one, so I’m wearing a nude camisole underneath.
For accessories, I went rose gold all the way with hoop earrings, bangles and a watch- all rose gold in colour. I finished off the outfit with a pair of rose gold ankle strap heels which are one of my all time faves and a quilted dusty pink cross-body from Forever 21.
I’d wear this outfit on a lunch/brunch date, to church or a to a daytime event like an art exhibition or a flea market. If you want to achieve a similar look, I’ve linked the items or similar ones below. I hope you guys enjoyed this post.
