As you can tell by the title, this post is inspired by neutral and earthy tones. Also, with Pantone’s colour of the year being “Greenery”, I’ve actually started adding a lot of army green, bottle green and olive green items to my wardrobe. I’ve never really been a fan of “green” before because I always felt like I looked like a giant leaf or an insect in it. However, I found that by making your green item of clothing the accent piece of your outfit, you can look polished and sophisticated.
The kind of greens that I’m into are the ones that have warm, brownish undertones, just like my sleeveless army green duster coat. I picked this one up from Bugis street in Singapore, this summer. I paid around $20 for it which is approximately 900 bucks in INR. A little steep for street clothing, but the quality of this garment is exceptional!
Underneath the coat, I’m wearing a loose vertical striped black and white jumpsuit that I picked up at CottonOn. The jumpsuit is very subdued in colour as compared to the duster coat, thus letting the duster be the star of the outfit.
Since the outfit is very structured and polished, I wanted shoes that would give off the same vibe, so I opted for black brogues. I also finished off the outfit with a structured black cross-body with metallic gold details.
For accessories, I went minimalist and wore only a gold toned watch. I did wear a choker in the beginning but decided to leave it out because I felt like the outfit looked simple and completed without it.
I would wear this look to work, shopping dates,to the movies, etc. If you wanna get a similar look, don’t forget to check the links below 🙂
