Staycation in North Goa | Lazylagoon, Baga

North Goa has got quite the bad rep over the past few years, most tourists and locals alike prefer visiting the south when it comes to spending a relaxing weekend out of the house. I’m here to change your mind about that! I agree that North Goa over the past few years has gotten very commercial however; there are a lot of spots that still exude peace and quiet.

Lazylagoon by Sarovar Portico Suites is one of them. Overlooking the serene Baga creek, there’s no place more tranquil than Lazylagoon.

As most of you following me on Instagram already know, I absolutely love a good staycation every once in a while. It’s the perfect way to pamper yourself on a weekend. So a few weeks back, the lovely team at Lazylagoon hosted my mom and me at their gorgeous property.

The Room

Our room at the Lazylagoon had a view of the pool and the Baga creek, there was a king sized bed with fresh, clean linen, a TV, a dresser and a sitting area with a couch and everything.

Our Balcony was the perfect place to chill out with a cuppa and a good book in the evening.

Our Bathroom deserves a whole other blog post! It was so luxe. There were two huge showers and top notch bathroom amenities. My bathing experience is what made this staycation super relaxing!

The Food

The food at the Lazylagoon was decent. They have a buffet as well as an a la carte menu with Indian and Continental food. We went with the buffet and all of the food was really fresh. There weren’t too many non-veg options, but whatever was available was pretty good! Lunch and Dinner were good but their Breakfast spread could use a bit of improvement.

Lazylagoon is also located near North Goa’s best restaurants, so if you feel like stepping out on a culinary journey, you most definitely can.

Things to do

1. Spa: The property has a spa on premises, so I decided to get a Swedish massage for myself. It definitely helped me relax, however I feel the Spa could use a bit of refinement. The bath linen wasn’t the cleanest and that’s something that puts a lot of customers off. So I really hope they improve on that aspect

2. Swim: Surrounded by greenery, a dip in the pool is a must at this lovely resort. The pool was clean and well maintained and a sure-fire mood lifter! Even if you wouldn’t like to stay the night, I would recommend spending the day at the resort and using their pool.

3. Meditate: The resort is peaceful and quiet throughout the day. If you’re looking for some quiet time, I’d recommend sitting by the gorgeous creek, taking in the nature and meditating.

4. Night Market: If you’re there on a weekend, you should most definitely visit the Saturday night market! It’s about a 5 minute walk from the property and operates from 7pm to 4am the next morning.

Whether you’re based in Goa or visiting, Lazylagoon is a great staycation destination for some offline soul searching or rest and relaxation. I would recommend this place to families with children as well as couples.
